Giles or Panesar

England are likely to choose between spinners Monty Panesar and Ashley Giles when they reveal their Test side in the final warm-up against South Australia.

Coach Duncan Fletcher has said the team that plays in Adelaide will be the preferred Test line-up.

I go for Panesar because quite simply to win a test we have to bowl them out twice, and Monty is more a wicket taker. I see Giles as steady. Also Monty as well as getting 32 wickets in 10 Tests has also been very economic

Monty, it has to be. Giles does not deserve his place back. If Monty isn't picked I'll be really hacked off. He was given his chance and he's taken it.

Also if he were to have a good first test it could sow doubts in Aussie minds, and if he dont, well Giles could always be called upon. He was deemed good enough to play 10 games so why change now. I do fear though that Fletcher may go with Giles, especially after Giles gave recent grovelling arse licking support to Fletcher

Aussie Darren Lehman says
Monty is a champion, a great character. He is a lovely guy and the crowds will love him.

He spins the ball, bowls attacking lines and is probably a trump card England will use a lot in this series, both for containment and wickets.

No one has seen him before in Australia so he just has to concentrate on doing what he does well and not get caught in the hype of what he will or will not do.

Australia are going to attack him, without a doubt, so he has got to cope with that and come up with a game plan.

He spent some time at my academy in Adelaide last year and worked so hard I wish him the best success.

Wickets win matches in test cricket, not a bowler who can bowl economical (well, not quite, but you know what i mean)

If Monty isnt picked we might as well go home now.
You cant pick Giles for the extra 20 runs he might get.

We need to take wickets plain and simple.

Can you believe it

"Coach Duncan Fletcher says England may review Monty Panesar's place because of the loss of Marcus Trescothick.
England's line-up for the final warm-up game was supposed to be their side for next week's the first Ashes Test."

i have an awful feeling about this
