Penny Mordaunt is one of the many rats in a sack fighting for their own careers. Absoutely appalling people. She's not shouting over people because she wants better lives for us, she's desperately shouting over people (mainly Rayner who is not entirely innocent of this) to save her own job. Shameful.

Mishal Husain's done an excellent job hosting the debate, moving swiftly to the next question and providing instant fact-checking.
As ref, she's let the game flow, allowed some committed challenges and whistled fairly quickly to stop play when needed.

She's better but they still need the facility to stop people talking over others when they are responding. Sunak and Mordaunt do it the more than anyone. Nasty Nigel heckles.

I have to say I think the Green and Lib Dem representatives came across very well. As always Stephen Flynn talks a lot of sense and the only person standing up to Farage.
Never that convinced by Rayner but doesn't help that awful Mordaunt talked over her at every opportunity (but that's partly because Mordaunt is a better orator, even if she's telling lies most of the time).

90 minutes, ditching the silly tiny slots to speak and no zzzzz ads was the game-changer. It was all less frenetic.
