One month - expires after the FA Cup Third Round (no news yet on whether he will be allowed to play)

Aim is to get competitive games under his belt and put himself back in contention for an Albion place.

Expected to be used as a centre-forward by Havant.

He had a couple of other clubs interested but a: wanted to stay local due to it being his testimonial year, and b: wants to be used as a striker
I don't think he'll ever get in the side as a striker again. He's only played a handful of games up front since we left Gillingham. ???
I find that a little odd.

I think he is still a useful option on the right hand side, he has a good cross and his directness can give us a different option to what we have.

Hopefully the games will do him good and he will come back and push for a place again, but I can't see him doing that as a striker.

Unfortunately Harty is too old for Wilkins as he seems to like a youngster but as most of the genuine fans feel that Harty is better than any other wide players at the club hopefully Wilkins will be proved wrong

he was a good wide man when he had PACE. now that he is getting older he doesnt have that ability to get past the man and deliver the cross, which is sort of key when you are a wide man. especially as he doesnt have the trickery of someone like currie either

i would have cox, robinson and martot ahead of him

I think you may be wrong there on both points.

Firstly why would Wilkins be picking Forster, Butters and Kuipers if he has a problem with older players?

Secondly I'm not sure most fans (not sure what the genuine bit is about) do think he is the best wide player at the club.

Best of luck Gary!
A true Albion legend.

HART AND SOUL

The Goldstone gone. At Gillingham
An awful season passed.
We were the pits, Donny were worse ……
So they, not us, came last.
Then Nobby kicked the donkeys out.
You came to lend a hand
From Harlow, via Stansted. Fee?
Some tracksuits and a grand.

It didn’t take us long to see
The gem that we’d found there -
The lionhearted Essex boy
Beside Richie, the Bear.
That second year in exile hell
You cheered us up no end
And some made up a special song
About your Posh Spice friend!

We came home: you were everywhere.
Played many a different role:
Attack, midfield, defence, and once
You even went in goal…
300 games: you gave your all.
Two Champions’ medals won.
While we fought for our future
You made the present - fun!

And though you’re now stuck in the stiffs
And rarely in the team
The turnout here today is proof
Of Albion fans’ esteem.
In our great club’s resurgence
You played a vital part
So raise your glasses, folks, and drink
A toast – to Gary Hart.

I can only read this in my head in a Pam Ayres accent.

Legend - good luck to him, shame Wilkins doesn't rate him though as he's actually capable of crossing a football

"I know one place I won't be playing and that is rightback," Hart said. "That's not me, I don't want to be playing there any more. I think that has killed my career a little bit

nice little pop at mcghee there

Forest

He played as striker in those games
It was the Crewe game where Mayo got sent off that he had to switch during the game
http://www.seagulls.premiumtv.co.uk/page/MatchReportOld/0,,10433~32703,00.html

He didn't play in the Bristol City game.

So it wasn't a pop at McGhee.

Hart would still do a job for us..but sadly he is not being given the chance by Wendy...sort of player we will release that will comeback and score against us

Please don't say Hinshelwood, i'm personally sick of hearing about him. He's got dodgy knees and may never fully recover from the kind of injuries he's had - same could possibly be said for Reid. I'm a fan of Reid, but know how badly cruciate surgery can affect a player.

Alan Shearer, Michael Owen, Roy Keane, Paul Gascoigne, Henrik Larsson and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. All players who have had cruciate ligament surgery.

Don't give up on Hinsh or Reidy just yet.

Crap Town
Butters will be NEXT to be SHIPPED out
The Tankmeister was on the bench on Tuesday which proves he is needed as defensive cover. Also showed his experience by not showing himself up like Jakey who was doing keepy-uppy and ended up going around in a wide circle.

If he was good enough to be in the 1st team, then he would be in it.

It is as simple as that.

He has been given alot of chances in the reserves.

He has done a great job for this club, one of my all time favourite players, but I really think that it's time to let him go.

So it wasn't a pop at McGhee.

i was thinking more of the relegation season, when he spent a large part of it at right back
