Read a few examples of away fans being herded by police to certain 'away' pubs after getting off the train at P'boro. Not sure how this can be done tbh if you're not wearing colours. I will be mightily pissed off if they try and do this as I'm, as 99.9% of us are, a well-behaved Albion fan !

Concerns ? Tactics to avoid ?

Never had this on previous visits, although they didn't allow us back into the station via the obvious entrance after the game last time - we had to go round the houses to a side entrance. f*** knows why

I fail to see the probelm, you are "herded" to a pub catering for away supporters, isnt that where you want to go anyway

There will be 2 of us turning up, we will keep ourselves to ourselves, we won't get lairy, we won't make a point of letting the world know who we are. We'll wander off to meet a few others, have a few drinks, then give it large in the ground, where it counts.

Not expecting any problems.

Some people see that as their freedom being restricted, I don't get it, if the Police didn't do it and there was a problem, can you imagine? I've never felt in the least bit intimidated or upset about this, sometimes a little inconvenienced, but that's a small price to pay if it keeps me, my wife and friends safe, and ensures no 'hooligan' headlines the following day.

From Cambs police :-

" Thank you for your email.

At this stage there is no plans to escort away fans to a particular pub. However, if a large group of football fans from Brighton turn up and they are known as Risk[hooligan] supporters then the police will deal with this group accordingly which may mean escorting them to a particular pub, monitoring them throughout the day and escort them to the football ground.

We hope this answers your question.

Kind regards
Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Well, the only time I've ever been punched at a football match was away at Peterborough. Walked into an 'ambush' outside a pub on the ring road back to the station. The police had advised us, in their infinite wisdom, to avoid the town centre and use the ring road instead. Good work :shootself

Personally I enjoy the freedom of choosing which pub I go in, I don't want to be frogmarched to the nearest pub to the station, which is most likely to be dreadful and then marched to the ground at 2pm.
