English language commercial cinema is mostly homogonised to the point where an English movie is much the same as a US one which is the same as an Irish one which is... you get the picture.

I have to disagree with that.

English films are quite different to Australian and Irish are different to American.

Each english speaking country brings a different slant on life despite the shared language.

You wouldnt get a Waking Ned Devine type film from America.

Or a Mad Max from England.

Or a Notting Hill from Australia or the US.
