My daughter's Spanish homework today was to write a short piece in Spanish about a famous Spaniard. Her teacher said they could chose Shakira, but she's bloody Colombian ! I suppose the teacher is just interested in a Spanish speaker and probably thought Shikira was about all most of her 12 year old girls would be able to think of ?

I talked my daughter into going for someone different and I'm pleased that, as we all love watching Le Tour de France, she finally came up with Alberto Contador.

Did get me thinking though. Imagining for a minute that you weren't into football at all, and leaving Rafael Nadal out of the running - who would you choose ?
