Not many really, Bill Pertwee (ARP warden from Dads' Army) when I was about 12, he had been evacuated to Storrington during WWII and came back to open the primary school fete. Met Joel Garner at about the same age, when the West Indies played Sussex at Hove, plus another cricketer from the same team but can't remember which one...Garner was pretty obvious being so tall. Norman Wisdom and Brian Barnes the golfer lived in West Chilt when I was a kid, used to see them in the local village on a fairly regular basis.
