The world record for an 18-year-old is £42m - Real Madrid paid that for Rodrygo last summer. £120m for Ferguson would treble the current record. It is a lot of money for a kid would is still learning his trade and anything can go wrong along the way.

You are thinking about it all wrong. Simply ask: do we want to sell him? Of course we don't so if anyone wants to buy him then it has to be a shockingly large amount. It is not too far fetched to suggest 100m at this time would not be accepted.

I’m sure we would look to keep him for a couple of seasons. We’re getting to the stage where we can make better choices over who we buy and sell because we don’t need the money at present. Bloom’s money making machine keeps being fine tuned and keeps on turning.

Earlier in the summer the deal could have been done, but not now.
These monumental deals take weeks to negotiate - not 12 days unless price is really no object and £250 million, £300 million + is put on the table.
