It is genuinely comedic how they've tried to rip off The Last Dinner Party here, why didn't they just send them :lolol:

It's a good fun song, enjoying it more every time I listen to it. Apparently they've all got West End musical singing experience, so hopefully those harmonies will be good on the night, as ever since Sam Ryder the singing/sound on our entries have been dreadful.

Still annoyed about Love City Groove having an Orchestra forced on them, for me the best Eurovision entry I've heard.

This - oh no - although it's not all Country and western tinged apparently.

Much as I would like to see us win (and Sam Ryder would have under normal circumstances) I just don’t see this one appealing enough across the voting audience.

If there are ’n’ nations in the competition I then see this coming (n-1)th because Eurovision is a tough nut to crack (voting blocks aside) and usually needs a powerful anthem as winner.

Having just gone through the Spotify list, my early likes are Malta, Ireland 😍, Germany and Slovenia who have produced a beautiful little ballad.

There is so much that could go wrong singing that song live but...if they pull it off then we might have a genuine contender.

For a solid mid-table position.

I see Malta are going to have to reword their entry, as the EBU have ruled kant sounds too much like c*nt.

i thought they look right for the gig. not so much the song, starts poorly, rips off Elton John in the middle, then wanders off somewhere else, bit disjointed like three tracks smashed together in the studio.

it'll probably do ok and i'll be increasingly annoyed by it.

That’s a not bad song we might even have a chance this year if between now and then Sir Keir can unite Europe bring peace to Ukraine and get much closer ties with the EU

All of the girls are West End performers, but it seems all are keen to downplay/minimise this in regards
to their Eurovision adventure.

Charlotte Steele made her debut in the West End production of Mary Poppins aged ten, and has worked on stage consistently since. Lauren Byrne has loads of credits too, recently playing Miss Honey in Matilda in the West End.

Holly Anne Hull actually played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera, arguably the leading young soprano role in all of musical theatre.

Weirdly, her Wikipedia was edited around the time of her group being in the running for Eurovision, removing all mentions of this.

I wonder if this is part of a rebrand to appear cooler and a pop star, or to downplay her experience and appear as an “underdog”. I imagine her girlboss gimmick with this girl group would be pretty harmed by being in something as uncool as portraying a classically trained coloratura soprano in a musical.

As for the song, it’s typical girl power, power-pop trash, reminds me of “Last Friday Nite” by Katy Perry. The overproduction, the lyrics, the weird pseudo-American vowels ala Billie Eilish. They’re branding like Little Mix, with a little bit of Taylor Swift.

It’s shameless pandering to the Eurovision audience, and as a result I think it might do quite well. I haven’t heard the favourites to win yet, but it’s a lot better than many previous years.

Sam Ryder was our best entry since Katrina and the Waves though, that should’ve won if it weren’t for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Here's our effort, deffo winner.

Absolutely no chance.

Will do alright in the UK charts (do they still exist?) but will finish in the bottom 5 of Eurovision. Not nearly crappy enough to be a winner.

I've got high hopes for the Icelandic entry
Apropo of nothing really, last evening I attended my son’s GCSE options parent’s evening with the youngster plus the former Mrs Nylon.

During the Geography presentation, the teacher excitedly referenced the prospect of a trip to Iceland.
I raised my hand and said if he was thinking of the one in Bishops Stortford, it closed down just after Christmas. The comment went down better than expected in the room but not as well as expected with the former Mrs Nylon.

Mmmm, it's actually rather good in the current Eurovision context. There's a lot going on there, and it's all a bit Taylor Swift. But I think we may be surprised by this one.
