Just far enough away from LDC
Apropo of nothing really, last evening I attended my son’s GCSE options parent’s evening with the youngster plus the former Mrs Nylon.

During the Geography presentation, the teacher excitedly referenced the prospect of a trip to Iceland.
I raised my hand and said if he was thinking of the one in Bishops Stortford, it closed down just after Christmas. The comment went down better than expected in the room but not as well as expected with the former Mrs Nylon.
Think you may have reinforced to former Mrs Nylon why she isn't still the current Mrs Nylon

For those that remember, the UKs last Eurovision victory coincided with i.e. the same day as, our monumental Hereford game in 97

Could this be an omen?

No.

It just isn’t the type of song that does well at Eurovision.

I agree it's a bit stop start, doesn't really get thunderous (which is why spaceman from sam ryder worked).

Will need to see how their social media works as that is largely how the public vote is influenced. Lots of images in victorian corsets may have a benefit. However our eastern European friends may prefer something a little more obvious

Malta has managed to get massive amounts of publicity and airplay for it´s entry.

As I have said on Maltese newspaper comments, if the whole song had been in Maltese, the title (Kant) would have gone unnoticed but as it is the only word sung in Maltese the pronunciation sounds very close to an offensive English word.
Cynical methinks.

listened to it again, and I still cant see this doing well at all. It doesnt flow at all, no catchy chorus to get anyone singing along. Its not "twee" enough to be a novelty entry, the performers are not going to stad out in a Oh My God Look at them way, its just very forgettable and that is IMO the kiss of death

Sweden normally, and successfully, go for a highly polished pop anthem...not this year.
