Its the James Anderson who bowled 20 overs in the first innings for 118 runs, despite bowling on a pitch offering extraordinary pace and bounce. (Yes, he picked up four wickets but you are conveniently forgetting that three of those were the last three batsmen, including Chris Martin - widely regarded as the poorest batsman in the history of test cricket).

It is the same James Anderson who is a proven failure in test cricket and has a test bowling average of 37. Compare that average to Sidebottom (26), Hoggard (30), Simon Jones (28), Flintoff (32), the much-criticised Harmison (31) and the player I am suggesting replacing him with - Chris Tremlett (29). Oh, and all bar two of the above have a better batting average than Anderson.

But if you are happy to stick by a player who go for SIX runs an over on a seamer friendly pitch at home to the SEVENTH best test side in the world, before picking up three easy wickets against those batting giants Mills, O'Brien and Chris f***ing Martin then I am very glad that you are not a selector.
