I would definitely say that 'Let The Right One In' as top of the list is just. Great to see a foreign language film at number 1.

Feel they have missed some interesting debut films, such as Moon

Would also put in mentions for Michael Hanekes' The White Ribbon and Jane Campions' Bright Star which are on now.

I have not seen Slumdog, and don't really want to, will wait till it is on telly, (good odds for it being on Boxing Day)

I would highly recommend The Hurt Locker and Let The Right One In.

You're in to films but haven't seen most of these? Let The Right One In is beautiful and incredible.
Agree about Gran Torino...great film.

Slumdog Millionaire is the most over hyped and over rated Oscar winning film ever imo as posted on the film thread, that was until There will be Blood came along.

but you rate it no 2 in your list

2. Slumdog Millionaire - 9

3.Up - 9

10. Coraline - 7

I think it's a pretty decent list. Glaring omissions for me (and judging Empire's coverage) are Moon and A Serious Man.

These lists are always ridiculous though as they are published before the end of the year. It's true that most of the year's films have been press screened now but I hate the fact they can announce the film of the year before seeing all the films, this year the stand out being Avatar.
