Good coach, absolutely. He performed wonders transforming the test side. But as soon as the test results started to slip (which they have) the pressure was going to be on him because of the atrocious record in one day cricket.

If Moores gets the gig will this mean Prior in as keeper?
tedebear said:Possibly - but I think its more to do with the fact that the top order can't bat for toffee at the moment in the one dayers, I don't think thats his fault - the entire team needs a shake up and a serious injection of concentration skills and a good old kick up the rear endus!!
sten_super said:But what has he done to address the fact that the top order weren't batting well? For starters, the instructions to treat ODIs in 'the old fashioned way' of starting slowly and keeping wickets in hand must have come from him; and it's been shown in this competition that you simply can't play ODIs that way anymore. Then when the tournament started he pretty much stuck his head in the sand and hoped that the batsmen would sort themselves out and it would magically come together.
tedebear said:I think its more a selection problem than anything else, very few of the current ODI team should be there in my opinion....
tedebear said:I don't know what instructions he's handing down,

tedebear said:but I'd hate for a manager to be replaced simply as his team aren't performing, if it was because he was making stupid decisions then I agree - he'd have to go.

tedebear said:If England were at the top of the table at the moment, this wouldn't be even contemplated.

tedebear said:Are England out of the series due to manager error or player non-performance? Its debatable but I reckon its the later...
