Totally incorrect , turkey is a massive boxing fan he’s playing fantasy boxing . He puts on the best fights because he can and we all get the benefits

Best thing to happen to boxing

Agree the anthem was cringe though
You know the bloke do you? Or are you just going on what the sycophantic boxing promoters have said about him on youtube?! Its not his money, he's just the face of the Saudi government who have given him a shed load of cash to push their agenda.

Boxing has sold it soul again to the highest bidder, it was only recently we had the head of one of the worlds largest drugs cartels calling the shots with all the promoters and boxers telling everyone what a great guy he is. Now they are all running around sucking up to the Saudi government who beneath the glitzy image that they are trying to portray is a regime that executes political opponents murders journalists and discriminates against women and homosexuals.

Now they are even banning journalists from attending events at our national stadium because they dared to suggest that saturday's event had a hint of sports washing about it: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/othe...locked-out-of-joshua-dubois-fight/ar-AA1r3Ljq

Who cares though as long as us boxing fans get a decent night out, a sing song and a few beers!

Difficult to argue against this.

AJ is a warrior, he said so himself after the fight on Saturday, the fans still want to see him so I'm sure he'll be back.

As much as I hate / dislike the ksa regime they have put some fantastic fights on and paying the mega money if we get this boxing league which they are preposing and we get 6 cards like that a year at stadiums then it will be interesting
............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...........

And you have to hand it to them. They have really turned Newcastle United round. It's quite brilliant that............zzzzzzzzzzzzz..........

Very rare for the challenger to have a rematch clause 🤷‍♂️

But IMHO he’d be extremely foolish to get in the ring with DDD again, whatever the money, as it would be the same outcome, perhaps even less than 5 rounds?
As I know you have attended many big boxing shows have you ever been to one before where:-

1) The champion enters the ring first?

2) The National Anthem of a third country (not of either boxer or the host country) has been played?

I have no recollection of either before.

With you on the Anthem old boy, but then again he who pays the piper calls the tune, quite literally, however Gerry Cooney came to the ring second when he fought Larry Holmes, the Champion, in Vegas in June 82, he also for the first time in Heavyweight Championship history got the same money as Holmes. Nothing to do with the fact he was white 🙈

There‘s a great docu short on You Tube about the fight, which Holmes dominated, in the build up the race card got played and was truly cranked up, so much so they had to get the Revd Jesse Jackson to calm things down.

Ironically to this day Holmes and Cooney remain close lifelong friends, so a happy ending to the saga.

He seems to be about as good as the Ultimate Warrior would be if HE had to get in the ring against Dubois!

To be fair he said himself he was a warrior after the fight and wouldn't tell him to his face he wasn't.

Have to say the incessant arse-licking of the Saudis I hear from various boxers and promoters (coincidentally the ones pocketing the cash) on the radio gets a bit nauseating. Will say anything and everything apart from ‘we’re doing it for the money, simple’ (see also Jordan Henderson, various golfers etc).

I wonder what happens when or if the Saudis realise with right infrastructure they can operate without the Promoters and deal with the Boxers and their management direct?
