When I lived in Brighton it was no problem. Everyone went up to London and up to Scotland. There was no going 'down' as you'd be in the sea. ;), but come to think of it we did go down to Cornwall.

Now I live north of London people here go up to Scotland and also up to London, so that would make Herts the lowest point in England (actually not a bad concusion:) ).

I still insist its down to London from anywhere north:rolleyes:

If you're going to London, you travel "up" no matter whereabouts you are.

If I lived in Plymouth, I wouldn't worry whether I was going up or down, I'd be getting OUT - thats the main thing.

I reckon I'd say I was going along to Brighton though....

Don't you always travel "up" to the capital, regardless of where you are in relation to it?
