It's not qualifying that England have problems with. It's been shit when it matters, i.e. on the big stage.
And that is where they should be judged, qualifying is only about winning games, in the sane way Brighton scraped eight wins in March. Most of them were very scrappy by the odd goal.
Still a bit embarrassing when Wales play all around them.
Are top of the table and will easily qualify.
Some people need to get a sense of proportion.
We are not Brazil and won't be until the FA knock on Gus' door.
Stop your moaning!!!!!!!!!
As it was when Dagenham & Redbridge did twice to us but we still won.
England were absymal. No offence to these teams but England playing teams like Bulgaria and Wales are the equivalent of Brighton playing Aldershot and Torquay in League 2 and playing terribly. We may only need to scrape wins, but these are world class players and we never step it up for the big tournaments, shown in the drivel that was our World Cup 2010 campaign.
Funny how Brighton would win 1-0 last season in scrappy games like that and we were amazing
England do the same and instantly they're shit, need to go down in the fifa worlds rankings. Strange.
disagree.
it was yet another poor, slow, wasteful performance.
we're only top because the group is so poor.
What the world cup were we lost 4-1 to the semifinalist who lost to the team that won the cup.
But the fault lies with the Premiership. Players just do enough and save energy for their clubs. They're not going to bust a gut to win 4-0 rather than 1-0. The job was still done.
Moan when they don't win but otherwise accept it's a job done.
And this. And don't forget we should have been 2-2.
Peoples expectations about the England team are way too high and unrealistic.
Big deal. The Germans rightly deserved to beat us that day. 8-1 wouldn't have been an unfair result.
Gary Neville has stated we didn't achieve during his time in international football because we couldn't keep the ball. As a Brighton fan watching success under Gus, how can you be so blind to this continuing failure of our national side. Sloppy and wasteful possession. Little pace in moving the ball when we do have it. We're easy to play against and quite predictable a lot of the time.
