I agree with the Travis version of Hit Me Baby One More Time.
Mindy Smith did a good version of Jolene, too.

I prefer Garth Brook's version of Dylan's 'To Make You Feel My Love'
I like Alison Krauss's version of Keith Whitley's 'When you say Nothing at All' (the version Ronan Keating tried to copy)

There are some ok versions of songs on Radio1's Live Lounge.

Two covers featured on The Killers' album 'Sawdust'.
'Ruby don't take your love to town' and 'Romeo and Juliet'.

Ugh.

I can't stand Krauss' or Keating's versions, the original is by far the best there IMO.

Nearly 20 years since Keith Whitley died now.

Thought the Bauhaus cover of Ziggy Stardust was pretty good.

And whilst not necessarily in the good category, can anyone remember a punk cover of the shake 'n vac ad song. Bit of a loud thrash but good fun!

Bauhaus doing Ziggy is great.
I think the other band you are after is Snuff- who also did Purple Haze and In Sickness And In Health among many others. The albums called Flibbidydibbidydob.
(memo to self: have to get the album from me mums.)

This is currently my most played album. His version of Knock On Wood is funk-tastic.

Ciccone (Sonic) Youth's version of Addicted to Love. Changing the greasy, slimeball male vocals to a deadpan female one completely changed the entire emphasis and meaning of the song. They also did a rather good cover version of The Carpenters' Superstar again swapping the gender of the vocalist to enhance the underlying stalker creepiness of the original.

your not wrong..................Cash is God, the video is.......just............his life.

In my personal opinion, it's the best music video ever made. So perfectly touching and poignant. Cash was an icon and that video was the perfect way to end.
