My point was that there really aren't ANY nice bits of Southampton.

It's also a far more scary place to spend a Saturday night.

I used to work round the corner from St Mary's and if ever one of the women in my department couldn't get into the company car park and had to park somewhere else in the area I'd have to act as henchman to escort them to their car due to the fear everyone had of being raped, beaten or mugged.

Yes, there are some horrid areas in Southampton (particularly remember an area where we had to be escorted by the police to see a patient) , but you can find some pretty scummy places around Brighton (Moulsecoombe comes to mind). I've had my bag stolen in Brighton, not in Southampton.

The area around the Docks is nice.

comes from the club that had MASSIVE crowds in the premier league, by the way st marys is to big for saints... oh and falmer will be ten times better than your copy of darlington/leicester/derby/middlesborough/reading/stoke/coventry stadiums.

Too big for Saints? even though we've sold out 4 times this season, in this our worst placed season in over 50 years. And yes it was at capacity in the Prem.

If Brighton required a capacity of 30k ,they too would be building a Derby, Sunderland, Mboro, Cov, Leicester etc type ground.

you were getting uptight about two clubs that aint even in the same division as you (and lets face it,you wont be allowed to play in the championship whilst groundsharing with purley F.c.,you aint got no chance of getting a big ground like AFC's after you shafted crawley last time you went bankrupt) so you could be in any division of any league that would take you.

Not uptight at all mate but living in Southampton with my wife who's local I sometimes feel the need to defend the area. Oh, & Pompey are in our division next season, if that's what your rambling half illiterate post is suggesting?

On a footballing note, Palace 1 Administation 0. -10 points & we still stay up. I guess we'll only get to see you in the cup if we're lucky enough to draw each other.

I live in Southampton after deciding to stay here after uni.

I like it here & it's more aesthetically pleasing than South London.

Every town or city has it's sh*t areas but Southampton also has plenty of green parks, nice restaurants & plenty of expensive areas to live.
