Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turned on my PC last night, it booted up as normal but then when I tried to go online it didn't even attempt it and I got an error message.
Tried rebooting PC but now I'm not getting any response from the monitor, keyboard or mouse.
I can switch the monitor on but it stays blank and within seconds it goes into standby mode. Keyboard and mouse aren't lit up either. The PC remains on but nothing happens.
Any ideas what the problem could be anyone?

Thanks

Have you tried whacking the box with your bell-end screaming the lyrics to Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights with all the words changed to rhyme with shite?

Try bringing it up in 'Safe Mode' for a start

If that works you have a duff driver.

switch it on hold the F6 or F8 key down and go into safe mode.

if you do see a screen, then it may be something to do with youir windows set up that may have been corrupted....did you shut down properly last night?

Which could still be caused by a duff driver couldn't it ?

Actually what Fozzie really needs to do is to take it to a reliable computer repair place rather than listen to us speculating as to what the problem is.

Thanks for the replies.

Still no luck so I've called someone out to come and look at it at the weekend so fingers crossed!

And if you're wondering how I'm able to post on here, I'm at work.

Need to get it sorted asap because it's essential that I can get online what with the Falmer decision so close.
It's stressful enough as it is but not being able to access my PC to find out exactly what's going on will do my head in.

Try unplugging it (obviously) and plunging it into a bath full of cold water.

I'm no expert but that should clear any gunge off the circuit boards.

If you're referring to Windows display drivers, no.

You think ? I don't but what would I know after 30 years in IT ?
