You think ? I don't but what would I know after 30 years in IT ?

The lack of response from monitor, keyboard and mouse sounds slightly more than a driver issue to me.

If there are any beeps after you turn it on then dig out the motherboard manual and look up what they mean.

Personally I'd open up the case, give it a clean (with a can of compressed air if possible, I just give it a blow though :)), check for short circuits (e.g. the motherboard touching the case), check all the cable connections (IDE, floppy disk, power) and then check the components one by one (RAM, graphics card, modem, etc), which is tricky if you don't have spares with which to test.

Failing that get a geeky mate (every has one - me being a few people's :)) to have a look at it.

Actually what Fozzie really needs to do is to take it to a reliable computer repair place rather than listen to us speculating as to what the problem is.
And just look at what that did for Mr Glitter.

PC World are NOT a reliable or reputable repair centre!!

Agreed, you'd better off going to a small, local concern.

If you can tell me how a corrupt Windows driver will prevent you from seeing the POST display, I'm more than willing to listen.
