Very humbling i agree. Leicester City are putting together a very strong squad. It will be an excellent litmus test for us in September.

We're very lucky we start the season playing Doncaster, Pompey, Peterborough and Bristol City before then (with the exception of Blackpool, who I didn't fancy to do much this season but actually they've not yet lost many players!)

How's this humbling ? We've spent the 3rd most in the league, no ?

Nooooooooooooo! Please dear God no. The exact attitude I really hope will not be associated with BHAFC any time soon.

We KNOW money doesn't equal success, and even though it helps, it shouldn't be all we're about. It's about football, not money.

For Gods Sake this has got my back up.

Leicester have bought well but Ipswich also look to have upgraded too.

I wonder whether Big Sam will be able to integrate 'his' Bolton boys with the rest of the squad? I fancy it won't knit well together until the second half of the season. I also fancy Hughton to get Birmingham there or thereabouts.

Am still worried that on Sunday morning my first thought will be why oh why we didn't bring in more defenders. Hey ho, IGWT!

Its about money and football. Without money we would have no chance. Its about spending it wisely on hungry quality players, which is exactly what Gus has done.
Our squad looks excellent, we do still need an experienced CB though till El-Abd is fit again..

This is true. And also those figures say nothing about the wages that the players (both incoming and outgoing) are on.

Blackpool have lost David Vaughan as well so that list is at best bollocks.

My point is that we shouldn't be humbled by a few clubs making a few journeyman free transfers.

Plus we've signed young talent.

I think you've missed the point

Just another little update... we've also signed Giles Barnes from West Brom. Fantastic signing! Saw him on Fri at Grimsby and he looked the biz. Small club? Relegation certs? No ambition? I tell you, there'll be some egg on faces this season!!!
In SOD we trust.
