Yet another blow for them, what with Demba Ba having left for Chelsea today.

Retweeted on Twitter by Naylor and originally posted by a journalist who covers Newcastle too.

Rather good news for us !!

andyNaylorArgus: So no Cisse or Coloccini for Toon. Big chunk out of the spine of the side. #bhafc

As an exiled Geordie, who has lived down here for 21 years, I can tell you that many NUFC fans think Pardew should field a weak team and concentrate on staying in the prem.... after the showing v EVerton on Tuesday, I think this is likely to happen anyway - its a weakened team already... No Cabaye, no Ben Arfa, if Cisse and Collocini are out, then thats pretty much "concentrate on the league"...

Well, thats made it a HELL of a lot easier.

Shola Ameobi is still a massive threat in the air but sammy ameobi is RUBS.

Mike Williamson will have kittens if Buckley or Kazenga get the run at him without his argentinian mate backing him up.

Need the crowd to be 12th man.

No Buckley though, so might limit us a bit. Need KLL to be on his game

They've got no cisse or coloccini but we have no Buckley.
Good news for us without those two as demba ba has left for Chelsea as well!

Think we're favorites for this now; they didn't have Colo, Demba or Pappis last season but did have Cabaye and Ben Arfa. Only Krul from the 'stars' will be about.

It'll probably be:

Krul

Tavernier - Williamson - Perch - Santon

Anita - Bigirimana - Marveaux

Obertan - Ameobi - Ameobi

I think that would make us favorites after you take into account their away record this season.

EDIT: Tiote is at the African Nations

Have you seen our home record? - nailed on draw.

Danny Simpson suffered a broken toe 3 days ago as well. They're dropping like flies. Are Cabaye and Ben Arfa definitely out?

It's getting to the point where we almost should win.

Yeah fair enough probably more likely; but at the same time there are so many similarities with last season I think that 3-0 win at Ipswich was the start of something and we're going to go on an unbeaten run! Although we don't have Buckley and our home record is poor, they're putting out a Championship side in effect so it really will go down to what team shows up on the day.

these players would easily make our team. no way we are favourites. we dont even have our best player and match winner from last season! brighton 1-2 newcastle.

The two Ameobis would not "easily" make our team. Big Sho was one of the worst players at the Amex last season, and Sami's not proven at all. Barely scored a goal, has he?
