I would like to do this. Could I meet you at Priestfield for cycle to Brighton, as I live in London that makes it much easier for me

Tried to PM you Mendoza but you need to clear your stored messages.

I am a tentative yes, work day off permitting. I love this idea.

Sorry Brett, as said I'm really keen what with cycling and The Albion, being my 2 favourite things, in the whole wide world
But I don't think I can make the date due to work and school holidays.
I've pencilled the date in in the hope I will be able to arrange something, but that won't be till nearer the time.
I'd rather be out and then in, instead of t'other way round.

Right,

I am going to get this show on the road.

Date: Friday 5th August 2011.

Itinerary

Morning of Friday 5th August
6am - meet at The Goldstone Retail Park.
Get bikes on van/truck/photos etc.

Drive up to The Priestfield, Gillingham
Unload bikes/photos etc.
(Going on the basis of 10miles per hour and small breaks, very vague timings)

8am - depart The Priestfield
9.30am - drinks break, location to be confirmed. (15miles)
11am - drinks break, location to be confirmed. (30 miles)
12.30pm - lunch, location to be confirmed. (45 miles)
2pm - drinks break, location to be confirmed (60 miles)
3pm - drinks break, Withdean
4pm - finish at The AMEX

- Alan (The Large One) is looking into mini/bus and van hire.
- Myself and Vicki (Edna Krab) will be identifying the route (I can make maps etc for the day)
- I'm looking into insurance (needed?/costs etc)

* Alan is driving one vehicle, but we also need one more driver.
* Any other volunteers would be handy. i.e. help dish out drinks/snacks during breaks, take photos etc.
* A first aider would be useful too.
* Maybe a small team at the finishing line?
* A budget then needs to be set for food/drinks that are supplied on route.

Once all the costs are in (vehicle hire, food/drinks, insurance)I can tot it up, and set some kind of entrance fee for each rider, that will cover these costs.

Then we just need to decide if we are doing it for charity, or just doing it for "fun."

We have exactly 3 months until the day….

It has to be in aid of REMF. The ride can be sponsored?

If I was fit enough to ride more than five miles without having to rest my legs (and my butt!) for a week afterwards I'd gladly join the fun. I will happily sponsor someone for REMF if the ride starts at the County Ground and cycles to the Goldstone (it just doesn't seem right not to actually include it in the riding bit).

Still hopeful that there will be a walk from the Goldtone to Amex via Withdean at some point - that I could manage! :)
