im biased (yes you can slate me for it) but i honestly believe arsenal would be a FAR better choice. Freeman, when leaving gillingham, has scally saying he would not have let him join anyone in the top four other than arsenal.

Walcott may have developed slower than hoped but he has improved so much this last 8 or so months.

clichy, fabregas, both joined young and are examples of what can be achieved.

Yep you're right. Young players with potential have never really flourished at United. Just look at Ronaldo...

Not sure about the Arsenal idea, they hardly have a track record for giving a chance to young British talent. The young players who've broken into the first team squad are frequently from France, Spain or Africa.

Justin Hoyte will be on a free transfer to a Championship side soon enough, Walcott doesn't get a run in the side, and Ashley Cole left as soon as he had the chance.

I suppose Ramsey would get opportunities in the Carling Cup, but then he would at United too.

that is because they are better though.....and cost about 1/10th of the price.

fabregas cost 500k
clichy cost a couple of million
toure cost 500k
eboue 1 mill

walcott has actually been brilliant his last 10 games, hence his call up to the national squad.

and ashley cole left because he was having 100,000 waved infront of him. he has won nout.

"Far better" my arse. It won't make jack shit difference which of those two teams he goes to. He won't get more than a cameo appearance in the important matches for at least two years at either club.

whereas young players are always getting a chance at Arsenal- Bentley, Sidwell, Upson...

bently was behind bergkamp and pires....i know which i would chose
sidwell was behind vieira, petit, flamini, fabregas and now is in chelsea reserves.
upson was behind COUNTLESS defenders and is now an england starlet...oh hang on.

good examples though.

They'd all be in the first team squad now.

HOW!??!?!?!

they wouldnt have played the games up to now to be in that position.

you HONESTLY believe sidwell would be in midfield.?(this is the sidwell from chelsea reserves)

and upson would be infront of toure and gallas?(this is the constantly injured upson)

It's impossible to say what would be the better move for the kid, but the fact is that Aaron Ramsey's quite easily the most naturally-gifted player I've seen at Cardiff during my 34 years following the club.

He became the youngest-ever player to represent our senior side last year when he made a brief substitute appearance towards the end of the season. I thought he was being hyped up by the local press to ridiculous levels during the pre-season campaign as a result of that, but then I saw him play properly and he was something else.

This is a youngster who appears to have the lot. He's not the type of player who stands out because he does anything particularly spectacular, but simply because he does everything well. At seventeen there's not much of him physically and he obviously has a good deal of filling out and growing up to do yet, but already he is strong in the tackle for a lad of his size. However, it's his instictive use of the ball that sets him apart from the rest, and the rest includes the senior professionals at Cardiff. His range of passing is terrific, his control is exceptional, he is naturally attack-minded and he's already demonstrated that he can score goals. Dave Jones has used him sparingly this season, but he's looked a real class act at Championship level whenever he's been called upon.

Ramsey is a rare talent. You never know which way these youngsters are going to go, but I'm confident that if he can stay fit this lad will be a Premiership regular in no time at all, and that could even be for one of the very top clubs.

In all my years following City we have never had a player that has even remotely interested the top clubs in the country. This week Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool have all tabled written bids in excess if £4.5 million for this lad. He's that good. While I'll obviously be sorry to see him go I will be keeping my fingers crossed that things work out for him. You may be hearing more a lot more about Aaron Ramsey sooner than you think.
