Just a matter of a FORNIGHT until the FUN begins! WOOOOOOOO!! West Indies v Pakistan in the first game which should be a good little indicator of the form of the two sides and England v New Zealand on the Friday (to the pub!).

Here's what the Grauniad have to say about each sides chances....

It's going to be GREAT cos most of the games are going to be at NIGHT because of the TIME DIFFERENCE.

Out of work, into the PUB, watch the CRICKERT.
I was wondering about that, do you know what time the games are going to start? There's no day night games is there.

Me either.

It's a long way off yet though, but we've got Euro 2008 to look forward to in the meantime.

Who is Kieron Pollard?

This young 19-year-old batsman from Trinidad and Tobago has been making a name for himself recently. He hit his maiden first class hundred on debut earlier this month against Barbados in the Carib Beer Series. The stunning innings of 126 off 150 balls was filled with 11 fours and 7 sixes. By all accounts, it was a sensational innnings that took a remarkable catch on the boundary to end. He followed that innings with 71 off 31 balls against Guyana on January 15 in the Carib Beer Series. Then two days later again against Guyana, this time in the one-day KFC Cup, he smashed 87 off 58 balls which included 6 fours and 7 sixes.

I think that stuff about Pollard indicates that the big hitters are going to make a massive impact on this tournament. Should England move Pieterson up to 3 to take advantage of the power plays?
