Cameron just offered a partnership with Lib Dems

Leeds - but not the dirty bit
If we had true PR then we would be in this situation every election.

We need a means to recognise the party with most votes takes power and their 'majority' could be determined by the margin of victory. Remaining seats to be divided pro rata on number of votes polled.

This would give firm government with variable working majorities and be representative of the popular vote.

Just an idea like, probably too simple for politicians though.

If he was being fair with regard to the lib vote relative to Tory percentage, then 40% of ministers would be liberals.

No. It will look like a coalition that got more than half of the votes in this election.

I don't think that a lot of the Electorate would think that.

Labour - worst result since Michael Foot.

Lib Dems only up 1%

Hardly a ringing endorsement of either Party.

It's clear that the Tories fell short, and this speech was CMD's opening salvo. As he said, there will have to be compromise....He's still in the box seat.

If we had true PR its pretty likely that we would see some fragmentation of the parties, quite possibly including the Liberal Democrats.

Why on earth would the DUP get into bed with Cameron? The Tories stupidly united with the UUP, so the DUP are not going to fall over themselves to help him.

You are so desperate to tart up what has been a terrible result for both labour and the lib dems :lolol:

As is every Labour politician and supporter being given 30 seconds on telly. Okay, so the Tories didn't get a majority, but Mr Brown has had his arse well and truly kicked.

The country has voted for a coalition......so lets see what one we get.

Now this is a sensible post. No one won, in fact you can argue that they all lost. The electorate don't rate any of them, so they need to try and work together.

Just hope clegg doesnt let cameron off with this enquiry shit, means nothing, its a fudge, proper electoral reform is whats required and if clegg lets him off the hook he would have sold all the lib voters down the river.

Indeed a coalition, if carried out in a grown up manner, could end up being a very good result.

I agree, 100%. It is to be seen whether our politicians can see beyond party politics, for the good of the country. Unfortunately I expect another election in less than a year after months of infighting and petty arguments.
