And once more,EU immigrants REPLACE taxes that would have been paid by British workers. Not only that but they actually pay less as they drive wages down. They are also far more willing / forced to work for cash in hand therefore many pay no tax.Only an idiot would believe otherwise.

No that is fundamentally not how the economy works. The more wealth and demand within the economy the more jobs that are created. More people means more jobs and more growth. The Government stats that show growth by remaining in the EU out to 2030 are actually dependent on inward migration continuing to rise which generates greater tax receipts.

"New evidence in this Report shows that the areas of the UK with large increases in EU
immigration did not suffer greater falls in the jobs and pay of UK-born workers. The big
falls in wages after 2008 are due to the global financial crisis and a weak economic
recovery, not to immigration. "

A Bank of England report a few months ago showed immigration has a negative effect on wages for the semi/low skilled ... not that they matter of course. :nono:

More wealth can be obtained from British workers.I don't believe you've made any kind of point to back your argument.
More wealth for what? For more schools, houses, hospitals?Yes.Why? To accommodate foreign workers.
End result? We have gained nothing.Back at square one.

Immigration drives down wages.Fact.

British businesses like to take on migrant workers to fill low skilled/low paid non paying tax jobs. They prefer to take on Brits for more advanced/involved/professional jobs.I seldom come across migrants involved in higher end jobs.

The farmer just on BBC news said it all. He needs immigrants to fill his jobs because the wages are so low no British worker could take them on. Profit profit profit is what most seem worried about

You appreciate that it is either low wages or likely go out of business? And that the EU through CAP keeps many, perhaps most, UK farmers alive? Without which they would go bust?

Jesus, listen to yourself.

This is the kind of argument the pro slavery merchants used to use when slavery was due to be abolished......."we need the slaves, we couldn't produce sugar/rum/raw cotton etc. without slaves"...........they used to say.

Some 250 years later and we have you, arguing FOR minimum wages for workers so that the precious Farmers don't go out if business.

Farmers who have their crops subsidised so the consumer pays more than they are worth........the biggest con trick of the EU.

To quote Michael Elphick's character in Withnail and I............"you need working on boy".

This lays it out in a good and balanced way on migration and the EU:

http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...#axzz4AAuwjaWX

Do not let migration determine Britain’s place in Europe - Martin Wolf

The reality is after the global crash in 2008 there are many people still feeling the pressure, disposable income is down for millions of households in this country, the wages on offer are just not enough to pay the bills. Immigration has just served as a tool for big business to drive down wages, create a low wage economy, and drive their profits up in bad times and has put British people on the back foot.

Really don't need economists to tell me things like immigration is good for the economy, it might be in their world when all they do each day is look at numbers on a spreadsheet and write more financial claptrap, but in the real world where a majority of us exist, it isn't working.

Most of the people writing this stuff, along with big business and the politicians are all doing fantastically well, thank you very much. These people trade off bad times and good times and they still make money.

So how many more migrants do we need to reach their magical numbers, 1, 2, 3 million people? When the shit hits the fan most of the people close their briefcases, **** off and leave the rest of us to clear up their shit.

Keep quoting CEP by all means but they are anything but independent :

"The Centre current annual funding of £1.7m annual funding comes mainly from the Economic and Social Research Council (50 per cent), from the Anglo German Foundation, Department for Education, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Princes Trust, Rowntree Trust, the European Commission, Bank of England and from contributions from members of its Senior Business Forum."

And that 50% from ESRC is actually from the Department of Business etc. i.e. a government department of a government that supports staying IN. You might as well quote figures from the EU president himself.

Profit Profit Profit is what makes the world go round. It pays the wages,It pays the taxes that pay for services, it buys the goods that enables jobs to be created. Profit = Taxes= services=Hospitals=schools etc etc etc

We are fuelling it simply buying cheap milk from the supermarkets, who in turn bring the farmers down so low on price, they are nearly out of business anyway. In France they have milk vending machines direct from the dairies, it cuts out the middle men.
