Just far enough away from LDC
Not necessarily - they would have to pay Knight off for his shares which would be at least £1.4m.

Alternatively, they may just decide to all work together to drive the club forward. In which case DK would likely stay as Chairman with more funding on the board.

And as for Harty's post earlier. From the moment Knight took over there has always been shareholders who if they worked together had more than DK. Initially DK had 34.5%, Pinnock had 15%, Perry 1% and Archer 49.5%. Since then, Bloom, Chapman and FBS have all come in so Knight has never had a majority. That would be the same now so hardly a newsflash.

It might just be that the McGhee thing has divided the board like it has divided fans. Therefore I suspect once that is resolved then the board carries on together ,united on other matters.

I can't see any major change till Falmer signed off and building started.

Things will definitely change then, could be very exciting as well.

I thought Dick Knight had 49%? And correcting an earlier post Tony Bloom aka The Lizard isn't Ray's son he is his nephew.

Random question, but if you won the lottery like that huge Euromillions draw of £125million would you, and how much would you invest in the club? Would you want to have control even if you invested more than Dick Knight?

Perhaps the new club song when the players come out will be "Ashes to Ashes"

Ray Bloom was at the cricket today... Perhaps I should have asked him all about it (not that he'd have said much) but I was far too busy enjoying watching some Sussex sportsmen that actually give a shit.

Working on the old adage of he who pays the piper calls the tune perhaps it is time for a change at the very top. Was told yesterday by a very reliable source that there are now 3 people who have currently more money invested in the Albion than the chairman. What if these 3 want the manager out? Makes DK almost like the little boy with his finger in the Dyke.

I thought you supported McGhee remaining as manager?

You'll forget about that if there's a chance of getting rid of Dick Knight then?

??? ??? ??? Betfair? Are you sure? That is a huge company but does Tony "the Lizard" Bloom have anything to do with them other than punting with them?

He runs a gambling outfit called Premierbet, which specialises in football. They were acquired by another company IHG for a £1 million not so long ago, but that's not exactly big money is it, the cost of two houses at Withdean? ??? ??? ???

"Pile in the cash" eh? Yeah, right........

For me, this is getting murkier and murkier by the hour. Who out there is trying to take our club away from us? ??? ??? ???

Spot on, LI.

The issue is:- Who will be investing in the Club and why?

If someone thinks that their cash injection is all about buying the right to decide whether McGhee should stay or go, then they are missing the point.

Any investment that diverts the Club away from the objective of getting Falmer is bound to be bad news in the long run, regardless of how much short-term cash is made available for the squad.

I'd love to know whether they would even be able to put in the amount of cash it would take to pay off McGhee's contract? And that would leave us so much better off to get players, how?

I think this issue is getting much bigger than McGhee now.

I am very concerned that there might be people cynically using the depression surrounding the relegation and Knight's understandable loyalty to McGhee to weaken the chairman's position.

Why is it the opportunists always strike when the club is at a low ebb? Why weren't they willing to invest when we really needed the money to strengthen when we were getting promoted two years ago? Or when we successfully defended our Championship status a year ago?

Is strengthening the playing side really their agenda? Or might it be causing enough chaos and internal dissension so that control of the club can be picked up on the cheap?
