...do they always seem to hang around together? At the falmer march and as I often saw coming off the training pitch Knight, Jarrett, CKR and Carole used to all stick together in a tight group and watching the Watford players celebrating the white guys wer just sort of milling around but all the black players were together in one big group celebrating. Not trying to stir up shit, just makes me curious is all.

Yeah iv'e often wondered this. I remember reading in an albion programme a few years ago, in an interview with one of the black players and he used to room with another black player on the away trips. (cant remember who they were).

I suspect, without generalising that perhaps they have a lot of things in common. Music tastes etc. Of course I am unsure of whether this happens at other clubs.

You tend to hang around with people in life, when you have similar interests. That is the only explanation I can see.

CKR, Jarrett and Leon were all orignally from London and are of the same age, so I guess they have alot in common.

Is it a cultural thing? She I can see the reasons why players from certain countries stick together, common language, cultural aspect etc.. But when the black players probably come from a number of cultural backgrounds, West Indian, African and all the seperate nations from those two locations I wonder what draws them together?

Or it could be the white players excluding them.

Yeah I can understand that but Carole isn't. And you can't tell me all the black players at Watford are all from London.

I did think of this. But you can't tell me that would happen at every club.

Maybe it's because all the white players hang around together :jester:

I've noticed that the white players often tend to hang around more with age group. Often saw Dodd, Butters, Oatway together, Hart and Mayo obviously lived together and the youngsters all seemed to mix together. I wonder if McShane and Hendo used to knock about together.

Really. See I can understand that, both London boys about the same age, Chelsea etc... But I never used to see Nicolas hanging around with him and the other black players. Mind you most of the time I see Nicolas he is usually by himself.

As far as Brighton is concerned. Dodd/Butter/Oatway/Hart/Mayo are all of a certain age. The youngster have been playing together for a long time.

I thought Seb and Fruity hung around with each other. They certainly practice together (porbably de to being wingers though).

Is that not what I just said BoF?

See I thought they would hang around together but everytime I have seen them coming off the training ground Carole was always with Knight.

On this film, towards the end (about 3 minutes) there is a peice of Knight, Jarrett and CKR together.

So obviously they're are mates.

Well that clears it up then.

I heard that that was part of the reason behind Knight/Jarrett/McCammons departure - they all hung around together at training and didn't socialise with any of the other players. Knight was seen as the 'ring leader', and McGhee felt he was having a bad effect on the likes of CKR.

The fact that a day after i heard that a friend of mine said he'd heard the same suggests there is some truth in it
