Cardiff's Millenium Stadium, to see the Rolling Stones supported by the Kooks!

:clap2: :clap2:

What an amazing weekend that was, I'd just got back from 2 weeks in Ibiza, then I went to Cardiff with my Dad to see the Stones, and the next day I moved into halls at Uni!

Watched the Levellers at Horsted Keynes a few years ago doing an acoustic set in a marquee.
It was a beautiful evening with lots of people sitting round outside having picnics and a few beers with the family and everyone having a good time whilst listening to some good music

I have three stand out performances:-

1) Spiritualized at the Royal Albert Hall, back by a full orchestra

2) Radiohead at Glastonbury 97

3) Manics at the London Town and Country Club on their first UK tour for generation terrorists.

Wasn't there, but I do have the CD. Does that count?

I still love that CD because I was there it brings back great memories, I have never had the hairs on the back of my neck stand up for so much of a gig before or since truly amazing.

UB40 at (I think it was the Galtimore) on Kilburn High Road. I think Labor of Love was just released. It was a fantastic hot summers evening, the entire crowd was really up for it, it seemed like everyone was legless - but in a celebratory way. It was a proper band at a proper dance hall - with people dancing and singing and laughing, and just having the best of times.

For me it beats these sit down and watch stadium-style concerts.

1)Nirvana at Nottingham Rock City.

2)Dog On a Rope at Bradford Polish Servicemens Club - memorable for the huge fight afterwards rather than the music. Which was shit.

This subject crops up with amazing regularity. Still, I love reliving some of great gigs.

There have been quite a few but highlights are: The Clash (and Buzzcocks, Slits, Subway Sect) at Sussex Uni; Patti Smith at the Roundhouse; Ramones and Talking Heads, also at the Roundhouse; Can at Croydon Greyhound; Gang of Four at Leeds Poly; Bob Marley at Brighton Centre; Culture at the Rainbow; Kassav' at Zenit, Paris; Cheb Khaled at outdoor area in Sfax, Tunisia; Christie Moore at an Irish ballroom in Kilburn and Kraftwerk at Brixton Academy.

Oh, an Estonian band whose name I can't remember but who played a storming set at the White Horse Brixton in 1989.
