I had a horrible feeling I am the only person who remembered that game, what a turgid afternoon. Technically, that was my first ever away game, but considering I'd seen many a debacle at the Priestfield before it, that's not saying much. He was shocking though, going back to Thomas!

In Wardy's first spell for us he was not very prolific in the top flight (I know this is a sacrilegious thing to say!) but those two goals were very iconic IMO.

err This is a myth if you ask me. Wardy scored 16 league goals out of a team total of 47 that season. Pretty good average if you ask me. That was in a strugglin side too, finding their feet in Div 1.
