Teenage Fanclub used to be bloody good live - I always came out of their shows wanting to be in a band again. Pavement, The Pixies, Throwing Muses, Cocteau Twins, Bowie, The Pogues, The Waterboys, Dylan, Blue Aeroplanes, Jeff Buckley, Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jnr, Black Grape, Pale Saints and The Wedding Present have all at one time or other knocked me sideways.

over the last year or so I've seen some storming gigs

American Music Club, Flaming Lips, Tindersticks, Grandaddy, Mark Laneghan, Yo La Tengo, Lambchop

Nick Cave on Hastings pier was probably the pick of the bunch but the best I ever saw was Red House Painters at the Dutchess in Leeds in the early 90s - astonishing scenes

like your taste in music Pevensey Gull,
Mark Laneghan at the old market was great[ I was a bit pissed for that one]

I saw Nick Cave at the escape club in the early 80's - that was a good one,
I saw Nick Cave about 10 years ago in a basketball stadium in athens[ Greece] that was superb!
as was Julian Cope at the escape

Flaming Lips at the Centre was a good one too[ I think i was pissed for that one too, but that was appropriatte]
I saw the Cocteaus a couple of times- once at Bton Dome and once at the Centre supporting OMD.

I think i am getting old!
But still going to gigs.....

Thouroughly enjoyed the Levellers unplugged at the Bluebell railway festival this summer.

ELO part 2 at the Btn centre around 1990 was awesome.

I am not a great concert goer - but I have seen the Stones, Who, Bowie, Springsteen, Jam and others. But the best gig was a really hot summers evening at the Galtimore (I think it was) on Kilburn High Road where we saw UB40 - who I didn't rate at the time, but the whole place was up for a good time, and everything was simply magical. Fantastic memories.

Leftfield at The Event - best and LOUDEST by far. People were open FLEEING from the sound system. When they played Brixton Academy a week later, it caused plaster to fall off the ceiling and they were promptly banned from the venue forevermore. Which turned out to be quite a short ban as it happened cos they were rarely seen out in public again. We won't see their like again. R.I.P.

Leftfield just breasted the line ahead of Underworld who have been absolutely glorious Every Single Time i've seen them. From the Essential Music Festival in Stanmer Park to the Brixton Academy when they were reduced to two men. Magic.
