We stayed in Barcelona around 3 years ago for a week at half-term in October and the flat had Barca TV. We watched several of the U11s - U16s games and the skill level was awesome.

It pains me to say this but Spanish football is streets ahead of ours.

That's because the children in this country are taught to smash the ball, if anyone watches Sussex Sunday league youth level the midfield may aswell not be there, my brother played for peace haven under 14s last year and scored 20 odd goals simply because one ball over the top would release him as he is lightning.

Now attending the Ian Gilmore Academy and can say fon my own years playing and coaching I have NEVER seen anything like it, it's all about keeping the ball, and playing football, for a start how many people who have played for clubs see a warm up where you run across the pitch, do side to sides, and then play the circle, at IGFA every kid has a ball and the warm up is all about ball control while jogging, and tbh some of these kids who go are out of this world.

One other point about Spain is that there are an obscene amount of football pitches dotted about, they are everywhere!

That is great to watch.

Love the mini Xavi always available, dropping the ball off with one touch and telling his team mates where to be and where to pass.

No 10 also an incredible talent and finisher and the kid on the left wing is rapid.

Were they boring to watch though?

No they were not both my kids as were and the elder will play County League 1 next season for Worthing United were decidedly depressed as they realised the standard and ethos of football they were taught is nowhere near what they saw.

Loving the English style of coaching, shout , shout and shout some more.

I'm completely gobsmacked by the standard of footy in the video but I'm not sure why I should be. The team of youngsters made the game of football a joy to watch. I can't remember anyone hoofing it once! Staggering. Truly staggering.
