I dont want to lose Ben White, but if selling him meant we kept Biss, and had £50m+ added to our transfer kitty then i'd consider it. £50m from the sale of BW, plus whatever was originally in our transfer budget, plus anything from the sales of Ryan/AJ/Duffy etc could mean we have something like £80m-£100m to spend. For that we could get a White replacement & everything on the shopping list.

I expect we already have a White replacement in a number of the CB we already have:
Veltman
Clarke
Roberts
Van Hecke
Ostigard

Would assume any fee received would be spent improving the squad elsewhere

Sky sports also saying Arsenal now want Ramsdale. Seems to be an article every day of who they're linked with.

If White does go I would have thought Veltman is a shoe in

If Arsenals opening bid is 40 million, then they will definately come back with a higher bid, that is just testing the water. Hold firm Tony.
Plus, I would be surprised if a big club didnt come in for him, surely Ben has his sights set higher than non European qualifying Arsenal

£40m plus Eddie Nketiah would be acceptable I reckon. We are well covered at centre back. In fact, I would definitely be happy with White out and Nketiah + Gonzalez in

There’s no rush. No rush at all.

Under contract for 4 years. Let Arsenal bid. Other bigger clubs may make enquiries later this window.

If there’s an auction £40m will look like a bargain. Maguire is worth £80m after all.

Absolutely love that Villa bid for Smith Rowe. How the mighty Arse have fallen. Cannot see White going there.

All of this.

Arsenal have to make bids as they know if United/Chelsea/City show an interest, the player will quickly be out of their budget.
I suspect Tony will be more than happy to reject offers all summer long.

White's value is only going one way in my opinion.

I think we 'want' to sell White next summer (or rather, that's the ideal plan - we don't really 'want' to sell him, but that's how things work). So as far as this summer is concerned, we're not really interested in selling him. Ergo, anyone that wants him for this coming season is going to have to pay well over the odds.

Happy days!

They've done us a goodun haven't they? Can't imagine White demanding to leave for that mess, nor Bloom agreeing to it. So the message is clear- you want the most highly rated young CB in the country we aren't even talking for less than £50 million.

Can see a bidding war starting and offers heading upwards of £55m. 50/50 whether he stays or goes imo. One reason the club has stockpiled CBs is exactly for this reason and make some £. If it means we get money to invest in a striker I'd take that sort of money.

The club will want to string this out especially if we have other targets lined up as the last thing we want is other clubs knowing we have £50m in our back pocked so think this one will roll on through the summer whilst we get our main squad additions over the line
