Original headline from The Argus....!!

Anyway Gus is expecting to kick off his summer transfer activity in the next fortnight.

Swanson: Gus ' I know of him but we have not made him an offer. We have a list of players for a few positions and we have options. It is actually not that big a list'

'I'm thinking in the next couple of weeks we can make new signings for the club. We have had meetings with Tony Bloom, there is another one next week and I am happy with how things are going'.

I imagine Gus will be hoping for a few offers to come in for those he hasn't been able release to fund his acquisitions. Tricky time of year ... really wants player A but can't afford so ends up buying player B then an unexpected bid comes in for one of those he's happy to offload and he's pissed off. Alternatively he waits, the bid comes and he offloads but player A has already signed elsewhere.

Hopefully we'll come out ahead

If we are going to swoop, let's just get on with it. We don't want to arrive at a situation where all the decent players are signed up by our rivals.

Not the real one
Sounds good that Gus is happy with things. Must mean his meetings with Bloom are going well and he's getting a decent transfer budget. Hopefully the ambition the club shows will encourage Vicente to carry on with his contract.

Somewhere near Reading...
Jamie Vardy going to Leicester, that lad is good, shame Gus didn't swoop there

£1 million for a CONFERENCE player is crazy. Yeh he has a good record, but that is in the conference, not the championship! And at 25 he is hardly an aspiring star. Strikes me as leicester having a bit more money than sense as it is a massive gamble...

It makes sense that the transfer list isn't big as we already have the quality, two or three strong acquisitions in vital positions will make us very viable.
