We more than matched the team at the top of the table and was ahead until the 80th minute today, we drew with Huddersfield and were unlucky not to get the blatent penalty awarded to us for the foul on Murray, this was against two teams who beat us 4-0 and 7-1 earlier in the season. We looked solid against Millwall and lost only due to an unfortunately timed slip by Virgo, and should have had a stonewall penalty against Orient which would have made it 2-0 to us, and almost certainly tied up the match.

I think this shows just how much we have improved since Poyet came in, and how, with the fans behind the team, we can turn these improved performances into wins and climb to safety.

Long gone are the days were we were shaky in defense, where we had a disciplinary problem, we are now a team starting to pass the ball better and look a far better side easily capable of matching anyone in this division.

Since Gus took over, every team we have lost to is currently in the top 6. We haven't lost to any team outside of the top six.. so when we get into an easier run of games i.e. pretty soon, we'll be fine. Everyone can see that the team has made huge progress in the way it plays - more than enough to stay up.

Although if the more negative fans would button it and - shock, horror - try to support the side, it might help.
