Appointment Delayed

according to the Argus:

The interviewing schedule has been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances with one of the candidates and an appointment is not expected now until later in the week.

Two probabilities

1. Slade needs to do a deal with Yeovil on the money owed on his contract and can't sign until that is resolved

2. Gannon has done a u-turn following the "for sale" signs seemingly going up at Stockport

I'd love to think it was Gannon but in the circumstances Russell Slade looks to be our man

Indeed. It mentions the interviewing schedule. Given we've interviewed both of them (alledgedly) I would guess its nothing to do with either of them.

Or perhaps Dick has been tied up trying to sort our loan players this week in light of our rather thin looking squad.

Very much doubt that would be an issue.

Such logic has no place on NSC!

Quite possibly this is true. We know that Dick is a strong negotiator in the loan market (Derby mentioned how we ripped them off for Robbie Savage and how DK always gets a good deal for the club).

I don't think it matters too much, no new manager would have taken charge of the team for tonight's game anyway. Hopefully a manager is appointed by Thursday, giving them a couple of chances to see the few players we have train before Saturday.

Surely when appointing somebody for a job there should be no unforseen circumstances that delay the appointment.

These circumstances should of been made aware on the original application or at least found out priior to interview .

This whole process is turning into a farce !!

Your great desire to criticise is obvious but could it not be something as simple as one of the candidates not being able to make the original appointment, or even DK not being able to make the appointment due to any number of genuine reasons?

It happens all the time in recruitment. But of course as it is the Albion, it's a farce...
