Well we counted around 8 planks at Cuckmere Haven and excellent walk and Mini was coated in mud.

While cycling to Shoreham Harbour I stopped to have a chat with the security people.

Apparently, someone was asked to remove their collected timber by the police and responded with 'f*** off'. They got arrested and fined £2,500.

So how come the police can stop you taking it? I though that so long as you declared it to the receiver of the wreck you were free to take what you wanted.

Under the 1995 Civil Maritime its an offence not to declare it

But the Police have the powers to stop you over that, and its to stop hoards of Gypsies coming on a Transit convoy day out from Croydon.

They'd prob take the wood and leave miles of fridges in return !
