Better to attack individuals and political parties than address the issue, eh? Fag.

Its free

Hosted by the GMB, Billy Bragg et al in attendance.

Come along

SMASH THE RACISTS

Why wouldn't it be free????? The GMB has more cash than all of us!! Anyway aren't they the union that allowed their workers at Gate Gourmet to walk out, and then get sacked because it was unofficial, and without a ballot? Shows great support for that, hope they are better than that against these racists twats.....

He has a point there.

There are issues to be raised which the BNP does raise. However they immediately got shot down for being racist. I'm not passing comment on their policies, but merely stating they do RAISE SOME ISSUES AND QUESTIONS. But all the time we keep brushing this sort of thing under the carpet, we'll continue to have problems.

Instead of holding pointless meetings against the BNP, why don't we actually start openly discussing the issues? Some people find it far easier to label them as racists (which yes, they might be) and dismiss their points.

And people wonder why we have racial tension? :nono:

First of all, if anyone is a moron out of the two of us, it's most probably you- you don't know the difference between their and there.

Secondly, whilst there are undoubtedly issues that need to be resolved in England, the BNP are definitely not the solution. I believe they want to reintroduce National Service. Would you volunteer for that? They are out of touch with what England wants or need, hence why they have no MP's. I am glad you approve of their racist stance.

As for calling me a fag, firstly I'm not, secondly it shows what kind of a narrow minded person you are.

As far as I'm aware, all the BNP's issues are, er, racist. Or correct me if they do have a valid point to argue.

Whether all their policies are racist or not is academic to me, enough of their policies ARE and that puts me off.

The BNP have policies the same as any other political party. However, their policies are overshadowed by their main aims, which is repatriation, voluntary or otherwise. More concerning is how they decide who gets repatriated. Their other policies are not groundbreaking, they tend to be carbon copies of other parties policies. The National Service idea is a shit one, by the way, totally unsupported by anyone in the Forces!

The only reason the BNP achieve success in local elections is by targetting voting areas where there is already disquiet about immigrants - they flood the streets with canvassers and pick up votes with a combination of anti-immigration policies and promises to increase spending on services. The anti-immigration policies are not actually that well explained to the voters - they only get a surface picture which involves reducing numbers - they don't see the repatriation underneath. Tower Hamlets exposed the party for having no workable policies - they could not deliver on their promises and were disposed off at the next opportunity.

There is no doubt that the immigration topic is a hot one, and will stay that way for some time, but a repatriation scheme is not really workable. I don't know what is, but I'm not stood on a soap box pretending I have an idea!

Which is why, just as long as any party stays within the law ( and the BNP do appear on the surface to do so ), that they should be dealt with at the ballot box and not by some ridiculous idea on anti-this or anti-that party meetings.

Everyone has a democratic right to be heard just as long as what they say is lawful - I don't agree with the BNP but they nethertheless have a right to be heard.

Of course if Prescott says NO then I'll be the first to start calling for the Labour Party to be banned !!!!!

There also seems to be a struggle in the BNP between the overt National Socialists (AKA Hitler lovers) that were grouped around John Tyndale and a bigger group of "racial nationalists" who are also a gang of nazi thugs but a bit more subtle in how they project their propaganda. At the end of the day the BNP are a racist, anti-semitic, anti-working class fascist rabble.

Huddersfield has a BNP councillor (for Heckmondwike ward) and of course Burnley and other similar northern areas do have BNP sympathies.

However seeing as I am still on holiday I am going to Leicester to watch the Albion tonight :ascarf: :ascarf:
