One of my mates went with some of his friends and was advised to stay around the main square and not to venture too far away.
After a few beers on their first night out they crossed the river and ventured off and ended up in a lap-dancing bar. They had a beer and were about to order another when one of the group overheard the cost of a round from another punter,so they then asked for their bill. The bill was £210 for four beers so they refused to settle up;within seconds the heavy mob surrounded them and they eventually paid up
Apart for that experience (which they were warned of) they loved it although they spend more than they should of.

Similar thing happened when I took my closest mate there last year on his Stag Do. It was a bloody nightmare, yet still bloody hilarious.

The Stag and one of the rest of the party were the last two men standing on the first night, and they found a dodgy cabbie who took them to a dodgy strip club, bought four beers without watching a dance or anything, and got charged about £300 for the priviledge. Two heavies then set upon them when they tried to leave, the Stag getting frogmarched to a nearby cash point where he withdrew the money from his work's expenses credit card. He did reimburse them the money the following week, but still, Christ knows how he didn't lose his job I'll never know!

Couple that with a harsh train fare fine for the entire party because we didn't realise we had to stamp our tickets upon boarding the tube, and it turned out to be a far more expensive weekend than it needed to be.

In saying that, the beer was great, Beckett's Irish bar was one of the friendliest places I've ever drank in, and the Szechenyi were perfect to deal with the Zwack-induced hangovers on the last day.

So basically, go, but keep 'em peeled!
