Stopped reading after that. Grow up.

No you didn't.
You read it and realised there wasn't a response but had to have the last word.

Grow up??
Now that is a mature response

Reply how ever you want.. you can have the last word this time.
I won't respond again

The fact of the matter is, our defence looks considerably worse than it used to, and we're like a schoolboy team when we're defending/attacking set pieces. WEBSTER IS A CLOWN. What exactly have we got to be patient for? If we don't improve in those areas then we'll continue to drop points.

Please give the date of the last time we won at home?

Not this season he cannot in the PL and we have played two teams in the bottom three, doesn't bode well. We did however beat Pompey does that count. How many games can we realistically believe we will win at home between now and the end of the season. I can think of one Fulham

Op, your sunny side up viewpoint is really nice but the fact is we don’t have many points and our home record is appalling. So The “ it’ll all be Ok in the end” argument isn’t good enough.
And no, I’m not saying sack the manager. I can see he has many attributes. But there is a lack of a certain knowhow.
I’d like to see specialist coaching recruitment.
Liam Rosenior for the defence and Bobby Zamora (he’s said he’s keen) for the forwards.
Unfortunately, our keeper’s weaknesses can’t be coached out of him. Sanchez should be brought back in, in the short term.

Why would we need Liam (nice bloke that he is) when we have El Capitan?

That is because we used to play a 4, and the full backs didn't go out of their half, and our wide players covered the fullbacks also rarely going out of their half. We played 1 up front, and packed the midfield with 2 holding players. Yes our defence was a little bit tighter at the back.

Swindon, but used to be Manila
I think what you mean to say is if Tony Bloom were you then he wouldn't be happy.
Fortunately he isn't.
He's an extremely intelligent shrewd business man who evaluates every risk he takes and knows the value of the potential reward/loss of every decision he makes.

As a fan Tony will look at the table/Home results and want/demand better.
As a business man he will evaluate the data from our performances and know we are improving.

You don’t half post some rubbish. You keyboard is working overtime today.

Which is interesting, because I partly posed the question as Saints are SUCH a similar club to us. Similar geography, similar stadium and crowd size, recent League One and Championship seasons and a reliance on production of good academy players. And yet they appear to have better players and a coach who knows how to get the best out of them.

It may be, of course, that you consider we are on a very similar trajectory but a year or two behind, given when we moved to the Amex and Tony took over in full.

I would say academy wise we are more like 5+ years behind the saints. They invested much earlier, I saw their academy at Marchwood expand over the months probably 7/8 years ago.

I have to admit I forgot about El God’s role.
I’m pretty sure he was better at defending set pieces than the current crop, so hopefully he will help.

Opponents we have a realistic chance of beating at home

Fulham
Palace
Newcastle
Leeds
Sheff Utd

Opponents we have a good record against and might beat
Wolves
West Ham
Arsenal
Villa

Opponents that should beat us ( but you never know)
Spurs
Leicester
Everton

Opponents that always beat us (and will again)
Man City

Nothing to do with Losing to saints more about home form since he been at club especially last year . Gone backwards and defending as bad as it’s ever been

We can't possibly have gone backwards from the Bournemouth-Cardiff defeats double header just before Potter joined.

Embarassing?

Why?
We stayed up comfortably at the end of the last season.
We have outplayed United/Liverpool at home recently.

Southampton's home record last season was "embarrassing"
So was Palace's

Who or what causes you to be embarrassed?
Are the other boys teasing you again?

We stayed up last season because of the lockdown.
We outplayed Utd / Liverpool but gained only one point from six.
Our home points tally this season / year is embarrassing.
Pretty football but paultry points gained.

It’s all about degrees, there’s a wide spectrum of views, I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Ranging from a couple of posters who relish losses (bitter about CH’s sacking), a few always glass half empty folk ..... it’s just in their nature, to many others who vent their disappointment and critique errors. Then there are many others who are eternally optimistic, some who who take offence that anyone could type criticism of GP or the performance on NSC.

NSC is all the better for the debates, let’s respect the mix of views.
