Gotta be Arcade Fire. Caught me unawares. Excellent stuff all the way through.

I really ought to buy it. U2 used "Wake Up" as their coming on stage track on the Vertigo and it sounded fantastic.

Kaiser Chiefs is good - though some patchy songs once you get past the excellent openers.

I can't get excited by Coldplay's X&Y - lush but kind of heard it all before.

Looking forward to the new Franz Ferdinand album in a couple of months.

I dont get The Kaiser Chiefs at all. 3 decent tracks on the album and the rest is very average.

I thought it was good for the first 7 songs (excellent for6) then it tails off until 'Caroline, yes' which steals the show and has the Smiths feel of misery to it.

Any album which has 6 immediate top tunes has to be good.

Out of the ones I have bought this year Funeral by Arcade Fire is my most played CD. X&Y by Coldplay is superb. Truth and Lies by the Levellers is also top notch.

Best live act is still U2 and best support to them was The Killers in Cardiff and The Thrills in Brussels. Ash and Snow Patrol were pretty good as well.

Their Somerset House gig was cancelled on July 7th for obvious reasons. Now they're re-scheduling for end of August, when i'll be out of the country.

It's not out yet but there is a singer song writer from Lewes called David Ford who's album 'I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I’ve Caused' is out on September. He used to be the singing of Easyworld is you have heard of them?

It was ment to be on Fierce panda but a major lable has just brought the album rights.

Check out the video on his site David Ford for single state of the union. It's how he plays his stuff live with all the loops.
