No 1 choice - Joe Kinnear
No 2 - Dowie (though I really don't like the idea of us taking the moral high ground with Reading and then screwing Oldham).
No 3 - In some ways I'd love to see Booker given a go but he's almost too good as a number 2 if that makes any sense. Still the post match interviews would be supreme entertainment.

Chris Waddle ... maybe not

Stuart Pearce ... could be a good bet

Nigel Clough ... wasn't he our mascot once!

Good managers don't necessarily make good managers do they?

Is that some sort of zen koan? Something like the sound of one hand clapping?

I don't want anyone from within the club, they've proved terrible in the past for the Albion (and with the exception of Liverpool in the 70s/80s they haven't proved great for anyone else).

I'd like Tony Adams but failing that Terry Burton.

I think Dowie is a good manager but I'd feel we were raping Oldham if we took him.

My list as follows in order of pref.

1. Joe Kinnear - Experience and good name in the game - ex albion.
2. Steve Cotterill (convinced it will be him) - young and hungry - another Adams. - ex albion.
3. Brian Little - V Experience good contacts, wants to get back into management and make a name for himself.

Dont know enough about Dowie but sounds a good prospect, Tony Adams may be a good gamble.

No NO NO list

1. Hoddle (god squad)
2. Rix (perv)
3. Merson (hardly can set a good example to players)

WSU, just below the seagull.
I would like to see another experienced face in the dugout
someone like Brian Little(good Contacts) and maybe Joe Kinnear.

I wouldn't want us to take on anyone who's looking for a fasttrack up the management ladder.

I'd duly take Hoddle as manager as long as he brings Bobby back to partner Leon! Goals Galore

I don't want Rix either, but I think you're all getting a bit hysterical about his "crime". Didn't he bed a 15 year old girl, consensually and not knowing her age? Meaning, I could see the point of a furore if he was a kiddie fiddler, but he's not.

Married 41-year-old father of four sent down for under-age sex with a minor, and indecent assault. I've seen Rix on the touchline at Millwall when he was managing Portsmouth. Trust me, we don't want what was dished out in that game at him for 90 minutes at our club. It was brutal.

I think you'll find Rix had known her family for years...

Surely we have to remember that Coppell has done wonders for us, bringing in the players he did. As did Taylor and Adams. We've had a great few years so let's not slag SC off too much. I just hope we haven't run out of good managers interested in us.

I wouldn't want dowie unless he specifically asked to be approached. I have no desire to put Oldham fans thru what we've just been thru on top all the other shit they've had to put up with just trying to keep the club alive, to go in and get their manager unless he has expressed a clear "COME AND GET ME, I WNAT TO BE YOUR BOSS" statement.

Brian Little would do me fine - loike Coppell in demenaor and coaching ability so players would be happy
