If Leeds are after him then it's off to Leeds he will go IMO. Didn't they sell him to pay some bills?

Alan Smith bossed the Championship at NUFC. I watched their progress, it was a shame he didn't get another chance at the Prem.

If he can get match fit he is better than bridcutt.

Would be a fantastic signing, anyone who thinks otherwise is clearly mental.

Are we talking about the fella that does the co-commentary on Sky Sports? Bit old isn't he?

Perhaps they're looking to replace Warren Aspinall on away commentary. I hope they're not thinking about getting rid of Byrne, he's fantastic ("It's like viagara on a pitch")

Not sure about that, Leeds to Man Ure....not sure they will want him back...

Couple of mates are (dirty) Leeds and would have him back in a flash - they only sold him at a knockdown price to raise funds quick and manure were the first to make a half decent offer

What better birthday present for the boy than to come and join the Seagulls!

He has been without a club since June when Newcastle paid up his contract for a full year rather than have him around. Does not say much for him that no one has come in for him five months later.

This is not true.

Smith has been on the bench for Newcastle this season (in the Carling Cp at least).

Its easy to see why Newcastle got themselves in the shit offering players like Smith £60k on a 5 year contract.

He played his best football at Leeds as a forward, or attacking player. Why the hell did Ferguson make him a defensive midfielder? Ive always found that a strange decision!
