5 up 5 down from the premiership

Every club needs a piece of that premiership pie.

If I was in charge of the FA, I would have a 5 up 5 down from the premiership. No playoffs or anything like that.

I think it would make it more exciting. Clubs would be able to make some money then.

You might even see one of the big guns ending up in the Championship.

It's not the bottom of the Premiership that's boring, it's everything above that. The same clubs fill the same slots, year in year out. Let's face it, no-one but Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal are ever going to win it, ever agian, unless something radical happens.

Like a nuclear war, you mean?

Or the club that wins starts the following season with a 10pt deficit.

But that would still leave the others to win it. Make it a handicap comp. You start with a head start if you are crap.

What would make it a level playing field again would be to:

Bring back a limit on foreign imports. 5 foreigners in a starting line-up 10 in a squad. After 5 years of playing in England the foreign player loses foreign status though.

Transfer cap, for a season. Something like £25 million to be spread over both windows.

But if the advert on the radio is to be believed, if you pay for the front you get the back done free.

How about NO promotion, NO relegation, NO divisions and NO Leagues? Every club in the country is entered into one sodding great tournament. What you do is each week you play the team immediately above you, alternating home and away. The more you win the higher you go (and thus meet stronger teams) and the more you lose the lower you drop. Then whoever's top of the pile at the end of may is declared the champions and gets a trophy. Then in August you start again in the same positon that you were in at the end of the previous season.

Agree that they need to do something.

In addition to the above I would also reintroduce the salary cap. It would have to be phased in with protection for those players with a wage above the cap and with time to run on their contract.

Do away with agent fees and signing on bonuses to make it less atractive to keep changing teams.

The only problem would be making it a UEFA / FIFA rule though.

I'd add a players salary cap to that too.

That is brilliant.
Dunno how they would work out the starting games but would be quality .

You could also get a trophy for every 15 places you moves up .

And how about also abolishing fouls and offsides?! Now that would make it interesting.
