How on earth can i pick 5 from the 80's ???.

Save a prayer, Duran Duran

True, Spandau

Hide and seek, Howard Jones

Fade to grey, Visage

Vienna, Ultravox

Tomorrow, i'll have a different top 5

The best top five I've seen. Not sure why NSC posters think its cool to like New order and Joy division. Most of their songs were totally boring.

KLF - Kyle said to Jason
Frazier Chorus - Sloppy heart
Momus - Hairstyle of the devil
Primitives - Sick of it
S-Xpress - Hey music lover

Joy Division - Love will tear us apart
The Flirts - Passion
The Associates - Party fears 2
Silver Pozzoli - Around my dream
The Jam - That's entertainment (not released as a UK single in their time, but rose in the UK charts due to sales of the import)

Because many bought their records at the time, loved the music and songs then, and always will.

Had this dichotomy of views in the 6th form, and since. Metal-loving Rainbow and ACDC fans who hated JD/NO/all new wave/all electronic music with a passion, and those with the polar opposite views. Different tastes.

This will change tomorrow but I'm going for now with

Billy Idol - Eyes Without A Face
New Order - True Faith
OMD - Souvenir
Animotion - Obsession
Frankie Knuckles - Your Love

Not sure about Animotion. Could be replaced with Level 42's Lessons In Love or Propaganda 'Duel' or Fun Boy Three 'Our Lips Are Sealed'....or Phil Oakey 'Together In Electric Dreams' or Talk Talk 'It's My Life'...or Westworld 'Sonic Boom Boy'...or....

edit - This is IMPOSSIBLE. I haven't got any room in my top 5 but you have to include Aztec Camera's 'Oblivious' or Yazoo 'Only You' or Furniture's 'You Must Be Out of Your Brilliant Mind'. Grr.....

I adore 'Eyes without a face". Still have the 12" single, in great condition.

Obsession - good track - I remember C4 used to have Soul Train on early Friday evenings, featuring that.

OMD - one of many great tracks. Same with Human League and TalkTalk.

They were great days!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who loves that track. It may not be the coolest but I really don't care.

Another day, another 5 that spring to mind

Mighty Wah - Story of the Blues
Housemartins - Green
Sugarcubes - Delicious Demon
Squeeze - Labelled With Love
Cyndi Lauper - Time After Time

Too many great tunes to pick...

EDIT - forgot about Danny Wilson 'Mary's Prayer'...

I think I'll stick to Cyndi Lauper. Sorry, I cannot abide Eva Cassidy's way of singing and her over-emoting. By the way Bat Out of Hell is a might fine tune but was in the 70s ;)

Showing my relative youth I guess - haha. Unforgivable, I've seen him live three times...
