I was in my local record store earlier when I noticed they were doing a 90's 'u.k rock' special promotion. Obviously there were a lot of great albums on display but I noticed that a lot seemed to come from 1994 which got me thinking, has there been a better year for albums than 1994? Not just for the u.k, but generally, too.
Some of the top class releases that year were:
Oasis - definintely maybe
Blur - Parklife
Nirvana - unplugged in new york
Manics - The Holy Bible
Jeff Buckley - Grace
The Prodigy - Music for the Jilted generation
Portishead - Dummy
Greenday - Dookie
Hole - Live through this
Beastie Boys- Ill communication
There are almost certainly more quality albums releasewd that year that I can't remember. So, was 1994 the greatest year for albums or was there another(or many other) year(s) that was better?
