Just back from ours. it's unbelievable close up, photos cant do it justice. Anyone know why there are still a couple of rows at the top of the WSU that don't have seats? Amazing view from up there though

Thats for additional TV cameras if/when needed.

You aren't exactly required to wear morning dress. I never have a problem with a dress code on a golf course or day at the races - can't see why people are making such a fuss.

I don't have a problem with the dress code either. Smart jeans and a polo shirt absolutely fine which Albion are perfectly happy with. Any stricter than that is not appropriate for a football club.

Speak for yourself.....I think its a disgrace. There should be no jeans, no trainers and no colours. Who do these people think they are, turning up like something the cat has dragged in. It reflects poorly on them, the club and those that have made an effort. They should be denied access if their dress code is deemed inappropriate and warned about future conduct.
This ' dressing-down ' all the time has got to stop. It is indicative of our lazy and indolent society. Some of you out there need a good dose of National Service, with some order and discipline learnt.
Me..I shall dress smartly as normal. Sports jacket, open neck silk shirt, cravat, monocle, oxford bags, spats and silver topped cane. That for me is the bench-mark. Its just a bloody shame that a lot of people have no class and no decency.

You won't get in with that cane Mo - lethal weapon innit!

Why? The Albion want to create a certain type of environment. They seem to want the elite of Brighton & Hove to attend the Amex as much as possible. It is all about the corperate image at the momment , they have homed in on what the area represents and have re-routed that to a new football experience , one the town/ city has not had in the last 110 years

I suspect quite a lot of the "elite" (arrogant post number one spotted!) would like to wear jeans as well. Sir Norman Cook for example wears jeans to every game.

Then a) they've sold an awful lot of 1901 memberships to the wrong people and b)you're never going to be part of the "elite of Brighton and Hove" however much you might wish it.

the stadium is fantastic, had a look from our seats, almost had a wank from my seat, but would most likely get asked to leave

got a bit annoyed waiting for a drink....6 people behind the bar all running around like headless chickens.....could maybe open the bar on the other side of the room?

other than that....foocking amazing

I do not agree with this. The way the club have marketed the 1901 Club, and more importantly the way they have priced it, suggests they they are not looking for an 'elite' membership or a corporate image. This is born out by the high number of regular supporters who have joined.

I think your view is more to do with your deluded idea of your position and status in life, and what you would like to believe you have joined. You are the only person who is making a song and a dance about their 1901 membership....and it's getting a bit embarrassing for the rest of us.

I was not reffering to my self . I was reffering to the non football types the 1901 attracts.

I haven't done anything of the sort . I have not made a post making a song and dance about my 1901 membership.

Can a stadium be atmospheric even when there is just a few randoms milling around and quietly chatting in their seats? That's how it felt. Does anyone elase who was there yesterday know what I mean by that? Just how it's going to be when packed to the rafters I just cant imagine.
The web cam and the photos, as others say, really dont grasp just how special the stadium is.
Took my family along who were all awestruck by the enormity and quality of the stadium.
Even got some tears from my mother when she mentioned how my father would have been so proud and so happy if he were still around today.
It's very very special. More excited than ever.

Well I thought it was awesome, the views from the Middle tier were amazing and agree with a lot that the WSU could be a bit high for some. Also I think the noise will be amazing as someone just tested 'Seagulls' and it echoed, can you imagine 13,000 shouting. I spoke to the sponsor of the Peugot lounge and he said he was amazed that the 1901 members he spoke to all seemed to be long term fans.

One question I forgot to ask, what happens if you have not booked a buffet or sit down meal, can you still use the lounges ?, or you have to go down with the lower class ruffians to get a pie and pint ??, does anyone know ?

The seaside.
A couple of my mates went on the 1901 tour yesterday, and were quite disconcerted by it. "I knew it was corporate seating but I didn't know it was THAT corporate." Being offered a curry for £25 per head topped the day, apparently - "why would I eat a £25 curry in the stadium when I can come back to Brighton and get one for six or seven quid?" I get the impression they wouldn't have signed up if they'd known what it was going to be like.

There's going to be a bit of a culture clash between the "prawn sandwiches" (genuine corporates) and the "meat pies" (normal fans who had a few bob saved up and want to celebrate the new stadium and help the club out).

I also reckon the no replica kit rule will be damn near unenforceable. Everyone I know that's 1901 has said they're going to wear the stripes no matter what. What are BHAFC going to do, particularly with regard to the opening games? Have a stock of 1,000+ white shirts to give people to put over their Albion tops (like how posh casinos keep a stock of black ties on reception)? Or open up a mini club shop by the 1901 entrance, selling whatever Albion clothes ARE acceptable wear? Maybe that's been the plan all along. Upselling genius.

Is 25 quid for a sit down curry that expensive? The only place I know you would get it as cheap as £7 is a whetherspoons and there no better than a microwave supermarket job.

Nonsense, and you know it. You're bigging up your membership in this very thread.

And that was a buffet "eat as much as you can" a bottle of Tiger included, half time pie included and teas, coffees, cakes after the game.

Did not think it was that bad.
