10 mins ago - your new East Stand (Falmer)

I can't spell in Welsh, so I'll do it phonetically, but used to offer my housemate a drink in his native language.

"Teesha Panad?"
"Dim Dioche"

If he started answering about what he wanted, and how many sugars I was completely lost, but as long as it was merely "No thanks" I could understand. :lolol:

Metsec and Drylining. We do walls, ceilings and some rendering.

You've lost me. I can't speak much more - it's a very silly language, all back-to-front.

Dry-lining stage a bit distant yet, hope you get in

Yeah, generally we come on sites doing the metsec (if there is any) a good couple of months before any areas open up for the drylining.

All early stages for us atm, just trying to ensure we get a chance to tender.

Wow, what a project it would be for me to be part of.

Keep up the good work fella ... and the photos!

Oooh.

Questions, questions, questions...

1. What's it like working there?
2. What do you think of the design of it?
3. Are you ahead or behind schedule?
4. What the giddy f*** does 'senior engineer on the sub-structures' mean?
5. Have Buckingham vetoed the webcam or something in case you're seen as slackers?

1. What's it like working there?
Great
2. What do you think of the design of it?
Better than Swansea's - so first class
3. Are you ahead or behind schedule?
On Shedule
4. What the giddy f*** does 'senior engineer on the sub-structures' mean?
Can't say - I'd have to kill you ???
5. Have Buckingham vetoed the webcam or something in case you're seen as slackers?
No, don't know anything about a web-cam. It would be a bit boring though IMO

Can you let Jack Straw in on Friday if it is raining? Don't want him falling off his ladder and hurting himself.

It's a shame they didn't let you work on the new Cardiff stadium mate, I bet you'd have had some fun with that

I know i'm a little biased, but crapdiff's new stadium is a complete joke. It's got see through corrugated plastic all around the outside from floor to roof. It looks (and is) the cheap option.

At least someone is prepared to get their wallet out with your new home. It really will be magnificent.

Agreed, only seen photos so far, but it looks very run-of-the-mill to me. I'm no expert but architecturally speaking they had a chance to make some kind of statement about being the big thing in Wales, and have missed the mark by some distance.

Just another flat-pack, Riverside/Walkers Stadium type arena.

It's weird, but I think seeing that picture, seeing that we're not fighting for planning permission anymore, we're not digging a big hole in a field anymore, but we're (well, not us personally, but some very fine builders) are actually starting to BUILD our brand new home just makes it sink in that little bit more that there really is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I STILL can't believe it's being built. Even these pictures don't stop me worrying that something is going to happen. Apart from that though...lovely stuff
