It's not even as if that's the only options. MacAllister has had some incredible performances when playing DM. And then there's Moder, I was perfectly happy with him being Biss's immediate replacement, up until the injury.

Dan Ashworth has definitely been valuable to the club, but it isn't solely down to him. Most of the recruitment approach was in place long before he joined.

They must have missed Moder then. We are very well stocked in midfield. Ali Mac was fantastic on Sunday, and he played a similar role against Palace at home. Surprisingly strong in the tackle that lad.

Bissouma is the one player we can replace without additional recruitment. To be honest I'm hoping he does go this summer (for a decent fee). £40m in the pot for recruitment would be ideal.

There was a little boy with him during the end of season stuff. Not sure whether it was his kid or one of his entourage.

Because I think Biss may be motivated as much by cash as by prestige. It can be the only reason he hasn't signed a new contract. Villa have been able to secure Coutinho, so I'm guessing any wage deal could be significant.

It will be interesting to see who Biss ends up with. I assume he has to agree personal terms to complete a move, which would prevent him from getting a massive signing on deal at the end of his contract. I think his plan is to hang out until then and walk away. I can only see him leaving this...

I haven't looked back at them, but I'm prepared to wager that at least 2 of them were perfectly good tackles that incompetent refs decided were fouls.
